King of Red Lions by Josh Darrah

24-04-2009: Josh finally finished preparing his scratch built sea base for release, and here it is: King of Red Lions sea base (2,20 MB ZIP file)

22-11-2007: My King of Red Lions is a challenging model to build but Josh Darrah not only did an excellent job, he took it even further!

He reinforced the mast with a chopstick and a rolled up cardstock sheet acts as a sleeve so he can take the mast off when he needs to, made his own ocean base for King to rest on, and he Photoshopped Chokipeta’s WW Link from the Japanese magazine Dengeki Cube a couple years back to how he wanted it: picture 2 | picture 3 | picture 4 | picture 5

He’s proud of the results, and I say: he should be. ;o)

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

Super Smash Bros. Melee Link by Travis A.

06-04-2009: With lots of small parts, my Super Smash Bros. Melee Link is definately one of the more difficult paper models on my website.

Travis did a terrific job building him! He tells me some parts were tough, but “nonetheless enjoyable.” ;o)

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

Cloud Strife by Jenny Pulsipher

05-04-2009: Jenny made “29 models or so”, including these two: my Cloud Strife model, and Kaizo’s Sephiroth model.

It’s obvious that Sephiroth is trying to ignore Cloud of course, because he knows he’s in for a beating when he crosses Cloud… ;o)

But perhaps he’s just intimidated by Jenny’s building skills on Cloud. ;o) It’s not a very difficult model overall I think, except perhaps for the hair which can be confusing, but Jenny did an excellent job on that as you can see here!

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

American McGee’s Alice by Austin Taylor

31-03-2009: Austin Taylor had a look at my little “hall of fame” here and was surprised that nobody had sent in a picture of their American McGee’s Alice yet!

So he decided he would be the first. ;o) While he only started papercrafting a few months ago, I think he did a terrific job!

There are two more pictures at Austin’s own weblog here, so be sure to check it out!

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

King of Red Lions by Hank Hill

19-03-2009: With not only a 1985 Nintendo Entertainment System, but also a 1991 Super Nintendo *and* even a 1986 Twin Famicom (!) as a constant distraction, one wonders how Hank Hill found the 30-50 hours to build to build my King of Red Lions papercraft model!

But somehow he did, and not only that, but because the sail turned out too heavy for the mast after making it out of the same, thicker paper, he decided to scrap and rebuild them!

And while he was at it, he also devised a way of making them removable, with a bamboo skewer inside the mast! And as you can see in this and these two other pictures: picture 2 | picture 3, the sail (and the rest of King) looks great now! ;o)

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

Kurt Zisa by Fezco

14-03-2009: The first Kurt Zisa for the hall of fame! And a great build it is!

And to think that Fezco only started papercrafting 2 months ago! It took him 5 hours a day for 10 days he says to build it (half of the build time was for the six arms… ;o)

Fezco double sized the model, and although the balance is fine, the extra weight has Kurt “doing the splits”, so he glued a strip of paper between the feet to prevent that.

Nonetheless, I think he did a great job, and he has some more pictures in his Imageshack account to prove it, starting here!

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

Fierce Deity Link by Andrew

24-02-2009: Andrew is just “your average person who loves papercraft”. It took him a whole to build this Oni Link, but I think that is just because he wanted to make it the best he could, because it looks really good!

He had a little trouble with the balance, but moving the sword around solved that problem he says.  I’m not sure if that applies for this picture, though, my own build would tumble over if I would put the sword in that position! ;o)

Andrew’s DeviantArt gallery shows some of the other models he built: link. He has started building Kurt Zisa and with the head, he’s already past the hardest part! ;o)

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

Ganondorf & wolf Link by Travis

13-01-2009: I only uploaded my new Ganondorf papercraft model the day before yesterday, but here’s the first finished build for the hall of fame already!

Travis from London (the one in Ontario, Canada) only just finished Ganondorf, and there’s still some tape on his shoulders to hold the robe in place while it dries.

He built several other of my models before, but some of them “suffered a television related accident” (I found it wise not to ask… ;o) He did send me a picture of his wolf Link though, which has a lot more difficult parts than Ganondorf but I’m glad to hear he’s still happy with how it turned out! ;o)

Thank you for building these Ninjatoes’ papercraft models!

King of Red Lions by Giovanni

29-12-2008: Giovanni from Puebla, Mexico, sent me this picture of his King of Red Lions. He found out about it a few months ago, but made some easier models as practice first (in this picture you can see several other papercrafts you can find on Nintendo Papercraft).

King is built using regular 75 gsm paper, and to prevent the mast from bending, Giovanni tied a piece of string between the top of the mast and King’s neck.

If you ask me, all that practice paid off, because even though he found the head a little troubling to build, it turned out great!

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

Yuna (gunner dressphere) by Errant

30-11-2008: It took Errant about 9 hours to build this Yuna papercraft model out of cardstock.

Although he found some of the smaller parts on the hands and head difficult to make, he must have enjoyed building it, because he’s thinking on trying Rikku, Auron and the “Going Merry” as well!

I guess he’s gonna be busy for a while ;o) but I’m sure it will be lots of fun!

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

Super Smash Bros. Melee Link by Crownflame

24-11-2008: On her DeviantArt page, she tells it took her “SOOOOO long too make!”

But then again, it *is* the greatest thing ever… ;o)

Crownflame made my other Zelda models first, so she already had some experience building this. You can tell, too, because it is a terrific build, which even made the school newspaper!

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

Zelda models & Sword of the Phoenix by Vivek Mahendra

22-10-2008: Only 9 years old, Vivek Mahendra has no trouble making paper models like my Sword of the Phoenix, or Majora’s Mask. The Thwomp block can be found in the Mario section of Nintendopapercraft.com.

Building wolf Link proved more difficult, but Vivek managed to build that one as well! You can see a picture of it here: picture.

Anybody can build a paper model, as long as you have fun doing so! ;o)

Thank you for building these Ninjatoes’ papercraft models!

Zelda models by Brandon

20-09-2008: Brandon from Florida (USA) is the first to send me a picture of my Midna model!

For now, Midna is sitting on a wooden bench, but Brandon is planning on building wolf Link as well for Midna to ride.

Midna is one of my newest models, Brandon also built some of my “oldies”, Like young Link and Majora’s Mask.

Have fun building wolf Link, and I hope it turns out just as great as these three!

Thank you for building these Ninjatoes’ papercraft models!

Link & Epona by Kristelle

17-09-2008: A little while ago, Pierre Janin sent me some pictures and links to build threads of the Final Fantasy models he built.

The papercraft fever must be contagious, because his girlfriend Kristelle also finished one of my paper models now: Epona & Link. And just like for Pierre’s builds, there is a build thread for Kristelle’s one as well at the French speaking Forum en Papier.

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

Kim Possible by Russ

03-09-2008: Russ from Toronto, Canada, had built plastic models before, but never a paper one. And if you browse Russ’s favourites in his DeviantArt gallery, you can see why he picked my Kim Possible model to be his first. ;o)

Because he didn’t have any cardstock handy, he printed Kim on photo paper.

I don’t know if that’s where the shine comes from though, it may also be from the fact that he coated it with Microscale’s Liquid Decal Film to make it waterproof (although I still wouldn’t take it swimming of course!)

It was his first paper model, and it looks quite well I think. I’m also happy to hear that “there were no major dramas during construction.” ;o)

Russ wants to try again with thinner paper to make the seams less obvious so I wish him all the fun!

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

King of Red Lions by Louise Roberts

30-08-2008: It took Louise almost 2 weeks to build my King of Red Lions model, and it provided her with hours of entertainment she says.

She had to reinforce the mast with a chopstick because the sail ended up being too heavy, and she has a tip for anyone who wants to build King, namely to print the sail on regular light-weight paper instead of cardstock.

If you want to see some more pictures, check out Louise’s Melon Cheesecake blog!

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

Zelda models by Andrea Hulme

30-08-2008: Andrea Hulme from Dayton, Ohio (USA) read about my site in the Nintendo Power Magazine and decided to build some of my models.

She did a great job on my King of Red Lions, but because the mast was beginning to bend under the weight of the sail, she used a fishing line (picture) to keep it from falling on Chokipeta’s WW Link!

To top it off, she also built my young Link and Majora’s Mask. It took her a while, but she had fun doing so!

Thank you for building these Ninjatoes’ papercraft models!!

Zelda models by alikakadri

16-01-2009: of course alikakadri just *had* to build my Schnauzer as well, but somewhere she made a mistake and somehow it ended it up in a sitting position, looking up at the ceiling: picture

She thought others might like to build a sitting Schnauzer as, so she tried to re-create what went wrong: picture 1 | picture 2picture 3

19-09-2008: by now, alikakadri has built almost all my Zelda models! ;o) Here’s Midna on a Rubik’s Cube, Midna Riding wolf Link (nice job painting wolf Link’s “beard”! ;o), Fierce Deity Link (repainted from another papercraft model) and here’s a group shot.

07-09-2008: alikakadri’s latest build is of Epona & Link, and she did a great job painting them again I think! ;o)

28-08-2008: Super Smash Bros. Melee Link is probably the most difficult model I made, and for alikakadri, it was even more difficult!

She could only access the internet at the public library and print a few pages in black and white, so printing the 100+ pictures of my instructions wasn’t really an option, so she decided she would try it without them!

I already added a lot of guides on the template, and it was a big help for her, but I can imagine it must still have been very difficult! But she did a great job building it, and she even painted it by hand to give the black and white prints these nice colours!

A really great job! ;o)

Thank you for building these Ninjatoes’ papercraft models!

T-Rex trophy by Wildman

21-08-2008: It’s a nice idea of course to make the T-Rex trophy lifesized; the template I provided will let you build it at about 10.5 cm (4 inches) long from neck to nose.

Wildman found out that the T-Rex “Sue” at the Field Museum in Chicago, has a skull of 5 feet (over 1.5 meters) long…

Update: Wildman sent me the files for a 400% version (624 kB ZIP file). On 10 pages, he has included the parts for the small version on the blank spaces as well. You can see a picture of his own 400% build here.

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

One Piece “Going Merry” by Joanna James

17-08-2008: Joanna James from Malaysia built this “Going Merry” for her boyfriend, who is a big fan of the One Piece anime.

It’s a very nice thing to do, because he doesn’t have the time to do it himself – and he’s just not very good at building stuff (her words, not mine! ;o)

It’s the third paper model she made for him as a gift, and this one took her three days. I’m sure he appreciates any gift from his girlfriend, but maybe this one even more!

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

Link & Epona by Rose M.

14-08-2008: Rose M. from Pueblo (Colorado) was looking for some Triforce earrings online when she found my website and thought it might be fun to try one of my papercraft models.

She built my young princess Zelda model first, but wasn’t satisfied with the result. But I think she can be proud of this Link & Epona; even her cat thinks so too! ;o)

Thank you for building these Ninjatoes’ papercraft models!

Final Fantasy models & “Delta Flyer” by Pierre Janin

05-11-2008: Pierre Janin did it again! ;o) A new picture and build thread thread from Yuna this time!

30-08-2008: Here’s a new picture and build build thread from Pierre Janin’s latest build of one of my models: Auron, from Final Fantasy X!

14-07-2008: Not only did Pierre Janin from Switzerland do a great job building my “Delta Flyer”, he also documented his progress in a build thread over at Le Forum en Papier with good pictures showing step by step how he built them.

He did the same for Rikku (picture here). The forum itself is in French, but luckily the pictures are in English. ;o)

Besides being fun to watch, build threads can be quite useful if you’re building the same model and are having some trouble. If you want to see more of Pierre’s completed models, you can take a look at his own Darktrooper page.

Thank you for building these Ninjatoes’ papercraft models!

Link & Epona by Quetzal

07-07-2008: Spending a whole week building a Link & Epona papercraft model as a gift for a dear friend and then discovering you took the pictures with a camera for which you don’t have the cable to connect it to the computer anymore… ;o)

That’s what happened to Quetzal from Queens, New York. These pictures were taken with a different camera while viewing the pictures on a television screen.

The other picture is just as fuzzy, but his friend liked the gift so we know the model turned out really nice!

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

Super Smash Bros. Melee Link & Auron by Matthew Stevens

06-06-2008: My Super Smash Bros. Melee Link model is a very challenging model with a lot of small parts, but Matthew Stevens from Northwest Washington did an awesome job building it: just look at the detail in the face!

It took him 3 months, because he only worked on it off and on. Auron took him about a month to build, but judging by the results, I think it was absolutely worth it, don’t you? ;o)

Thank you for building these Ninjatoes’ papercraft models!

Wolf Link by Tristan Levine

06-06-2008: Since she had nothing better to do anyway, why not build a paper wolf Link, Tristan Levine from Washington, USA, thought?

And time how long it took: 22:15 hours to be exact, spread out over one week.

It was her very first encounter with papercraft, and it turned a bit wobbly. It still looks very good, though, and now it can spend the rest of its days on top of Tristan’s Wii.

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

One Piece “Going Merry” by Ryan Lefever

22-04-2008: After several Zelda submissions, the “Going Merry” still proves to be a favourite of many papercrafters.

This one was built by Ryan Lefever from Iowa, USA. He likes to build paper models after work every day, which is a nice and relaxing pastime.

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

Young Link by John Stuart

23-02-2008: John Stuart from Louisville (Kentucky, USA) built this Link in stages, taking a break after each major step: after making the face, the cap, torso, and so on.

Cutting out all those tiny parts and having to fold and glueing them together can sometimes get pretty annoying, but if you take care not to rush things, you too can build your own paper Link the size of a coke can!

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

Young Link by Theodore Wren

04-02-2008: Theodore from Texas, USA sends in this picture of young Link from Majora’s Mask that he built using just regular printer paper, a dull razor and Elmer’s glue.

But even if it is built using just normal printer paper, I think it looks awesometastic! ;o) Using heavier cardstock might have made it a bit more sturdy, but I’m sure this young Link will find a nice place in Theodore’s room!

Thank you for building a Ninjatoes’ papercraft model!

King of Red Lions by Drummyralf & Annemieke

06-04-2008: Ralf (who is now also the administrator of the Nintendo Papercraft blog!) also made young princess Zelda !

14-01-2008: For me personally, papercraft is really quite a solo hobby, but Ralf and Annemieke from the Netherlands prove that it doesn’t necessarily has to be that way!

Together they built my King of Red Lions model; not the easiest model, especially since it was only their third papercraft after ChokipetaKOBO’s Four Swords Link and GotOrioN’s Goomba: picture 2 | picture 3

Thank you for building these Ninjatoes’ papercraft models!

Zelda models by Roy Kroes

13-12-2007: after making his N64 papercraft zelda models, Roy now also made adult Link from Super Smash Bros. Melee! You can see a picture of it here.

Roy’s very proud of his paper models, and I think he has every right to be!

27-08-2007: here’s a new picture of young princess Zelda that Roy also made now!

20-08-2007: Young Link still is one of my most popular models, so here’s another one!

This time it’s by Roy Kroes from my own country, the Netherlands, which slowly seems to be discovering that all paper models needn’t be of canal houses. ;o)

Thank you for building these Ninjatoes’ papercraft models!
