The Legend of Zelda Chancellor Cole by Helen

08-02-2019: This time, I received a really nice email from Helen, telling me how much she enjoys building papercrafts!

Because she considers herself still a “novice” papercrafter, she finds the step-by-step pictures I try to make to make instructions for my papercrafts very useful; for now, she likes to build cute papercrafts that are usually also a bit simpler for beginners. But as you can see, I think she managed to build my papercraft Chancellor Cole very well! ;o)

It’s extra impressive, because she actually made Chancellor Cole half the size as normal, which makes the parts even smaller…! Because Chancellor Cole has such small feet, she glued a small transparant piece of plastic so he won’t fall over.

Helen also has another tip: she stuffs her papercrafts with pieces of bubble wrap packaging she has left over (after bursting the bubbles first of course, which must be fun to do in itself as well! ;o) so that the papercrafts will be more solid and stronger when put together.

If you look closely, you will see something else special, though: Helen has decorated Chancellor Cole’s hats with some little gemstones (and apparantly he also found a really big gem which makes him very happy ;o) This way, he fits in very nicely with some of Helen’s real figurines: picture

That’s another thing Helen likes to do: creating little “fairy tale” scenes with the papercrafts she made. She sent me a picture of some of the displays with other papercrafts she made: picture

I think the little sceneries look very nice, and it’s a smart way to display and enjoy the papercrafts she made! ;o)

The Legend of Zelda Zora armor Link & Impa by John

13-01-2019: It’s not very busy yet after the holiday season at the office where John works, and as you can see he managed to take some time to build Zora armor Link and Skyward Impa from my Legend of Zelda series! ;o)

Something you can’t really tell from the pictures but that ended up really nice, is that he printed them on A3 paper to make them a little bit bigger: Impa | Link

And as you can see from these two close-ups of ZaL, at that size they still look really good! (but that’s also because of the care taken when building them of course ;o)

King of Red Lions by Antonio

19-02-2017: Antonio sent me this picture of his built “King of Red Lions”!

Although it is a boat, I hope he isn’t planning on taking it in the water… ;o) In fact, the nice display base is all the “water” the papercraft needs (and can handle) I think.

It was made by Josh Darrah, and the sea base can be downloaded together with King from my papercraft webpage. But if you want the little paper Link to steer the boat, you have to ask Josh first (his email address is in the sea base file).

14-01-2016: Ivana from Brazil doesn’t remember exactly when she made the first papercraft in the picture above, but she does remember the order she made them in:

Goku, from Dragon Ball Z (I think by Action Papercrafts)

For Mario, she didn’t even need to use the instructions! But for Link, she was glad I made them because that one is more difficult…!

I think Link took it, but it’s okay of course, since he’s a good guy. ;o)

So you can see that Ivana has taken quite a liking to making papercrafts. She told me she already printed my papercraft Lara Croft from Tomb Raider Legend, and I hope she’ll enjoy making that one too of course! ;o)

16-09-2015: SuperRetroBro built many papercrafts already, and this time he built my Epona & Link, from “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time”!

And as you can see, he did a really great job too, because they look very cool from all angles! ;o)

The “SpeedCraft” in the pictures refers to the speedcraft video they made for this build, and that you can see on SuperRetroBro’s YouTube page: link

It looks great, and it’s even more impressive if you know that he built it in just 9 hours in his first try!

Wolf Link by Sarah

16-04-2015: Sarah from Australia sent me these two pictures (here’s the other one: picture) of my papercraft wolf Link and Midna that she built!

Wolf link is a *very* challenging model with a lot of small parts like the teeth, so it took Sarah 2 months to build it.

And if you look at the pictures, you can see by not folding most of the parts, Sarah made her wolf Link very round and smooth.

Midna is a lot easier to build, but Sarah did have to scale her down a little bit. It didn’t cause much trouble though as you can see in the pictures! ;o)

Wolf Link and Midna weren’t the first two paper models of mine that Sarah built, and if they’re any indication, the rest must look really good too! ;o)

King of Red Lions by Pablo (Taiga_Tora & Light A.E. collaboration)

27-03-2015: Pablo from Mexico got the Nendoroid Wind Waker Link figurine, and he thought my papercraft King of Red Lions boat would make a great way to display it! ;o)

He had to search very hard for good paper to build the model, but eventually he found some pasteboard that worked very well as you can see.

The King of Red Lions was the first papercraft model that he built, and it was very difficult, especially the head and neck: even using pliers for the small parts didn’t make it much easier…!

Luckily, Pabo’s girlfriend has some ninja skills folding paper, and she helped him a lot figuring out how some of the pieces were supposed to fit.

In the end, it took Pablo about 4 weeks to complete, listening to a lot of old podcasts while working. But once it was finished, he was very proud of it! ;o)

His grandmother even wanted to have it to put it on her piano, but Pablo wanted to keep it himself as a diorama for his Nendoroid Link.

His friends really liked the paper boat it too, and they even wanted the printouts so they could try it as well. But Pablo hopes they know what they’re getting into with such a challenging model… ;o)

Fierce Deity Link by EpicMusicSoul

19-1-2015: Believe it or not, but my papercraft Fierce Deity Link was only the second attempt at building a papercraft model by EpicMusicSoul!

It took him about 4 days, and as you can see it was well worth it, because the end result looks very good:

To prevent Oni Link from falling over because of the big, double helix sword, he filled the paper model with rice to make it heavier.

He used the same trick on his first papercraft model too, which was a Wind Waker Wizzrobe, made by Ultimate Papercraft that he found on the Nintendo Papercraft website.

If you look at the picture of that one on EpicMusicSoul’s DeviantArt page, you can even see a little grain of rice that managed to escape from the paper model: link… ;o)

Zelda, Kingdom Hearts and Mario models by Kevin

29-10-2014: Kevin built quite a few papercraft models before, but he’s extra proud of his new one: the “King of Red Lions”, from “The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker”!

It’s a very challenging model to build, but Kevin spent a lot of time on it, and he even made the special “sea base” and the customized “Chokipeta Link” that Josh Darrah made (link).

And as you can see, the end result looks great! ;o)

05-10-2014: Kevin already built quite a few papercraft models, and here are some new ones!

The first one is adult Link, from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: picture

But actually, he built two versions of Ocarina of Time’s adult Link, the other one is the one riding Epona: picture

The next one is from another Legend of Zelda game, namely Twilight Princess, and it’s Link in the Zora armor: picture!

The other two papercraft models are from the Kingdom Hearts series, and they are the main character Sora and his Keyblade and a character featured from the Final Fantasy series, Cloud Strife:

Building so many papercraft models shows that Kevin really likes papercraft, and with the experience he gained, he’s thinking about tackling more complex papercraft models too! ;o)

05-04-2014: Kevin sent me bunch of new pictures of the new papercraft models he built since last time! One of them is another Legend of Zelda model, Fierce Deity Link: picture

But this time he also made some Mario models: in this picture, you can see the Paper Mario 3D that I made, but Kevin also built Paperlegend’s Mario 64 (picture) and PaperJuke’s Luigi (picture)!

And because paper models don’t really care who made them of course, PaperJuke’s Luigi and my Paper Mario are getting along quite well: picture ! ;o)

31-01-2014: Kevin is a big time fan of the Legend of Zelda series, and since he liked Twilight Princess, he decided to build my papercraft Twilight Link, and he did a great job too: picture ! ;o)

Fierce Deity Link by Gena

29-06-2014: Here’s another papercraft Fierce Deity Link built by Gena!

This one was made as a birthday gift for a friend, and Gena was a little bit worried about sending it there by mail, but luckily it arrived safely. ;o)

And because it was for a special occasion, this time Gena’s brother used his skills with AutoCAD to make a special base with an image of the Triforce, which looks really great with the model: a really cool gift for a Zelda fan! ;o)

She had a little help from her brother Joel near the end, and her Fierce Deity Link turned out really nicely! ;o)

Zelda models by GruffySquirrel64

13-06-2014: This time GruffySquirrel64 sent me several pictures of some papercraft models that he made earlier!

As you can see, the first one is of young Link, from the “Majora’s Mask” video game; GruffySquirrel64 made it in 2010 already, and he says taking it down from the shelf for the picture gave him “a ton of nostalgia”. ;o)

GruffySquirrel64 has a big shelf with his papercraft models, because he has many more of them: many people often think that young Link was the first papercraft Zelda model that I made, but it was actually the third!

The first one was princess Zelda herself, and the second one was Majora’s Mask, two models that GruffySquirrel64 also built to put on his shelf:

GruffySquirrel64 also built the Clocktown postman: maybe he’s running from the dog (a postman’s natural enemy of course!) but I doubt it, because this particular dog isn’t very bad really (he really only attacks Deku Scrubs ;o)

I think it’s much more likely that he just doesn’t want to be late delivering the letters to the mailboxes all over Clocktown:

But don’t think that GruffySquirrel64 just builds paper models from my own papercraft webpage of course!

10-05-2014: GruffySquirrel64 posted a comment about the YouTube channel he made to share the videos of the papercraft models that he built!

Twilight Link by drawwithme15

02-02-2014: drawwithme15 built my papercraft “Twilight Link” as a present for her boyfriend on his birthday, which is very cool as a self-made gift of course! ;o)

drawwithme15 made a lot of paper models before already, usually in one continuous go, but Twilight Link is a bit more complex with more parts and just took more time than usual, so she took lots of breaks.

To make her papercraft Twilight Link gift look extra good, she touched it up in some places with paint, but not everywhere, because she wanted to keep the details on some of the parts too. ;o)

drawwithme15 also follows photography classes, and as you can see, she took Link outside to apply what she learned there: picture 2 | picture 3

I wonder where Link is thinking about going next…? ;o)

Young princess Zelda +lots more by minidelirium

11-09-2011: The neat little papercraft princess Zelda you see above was put together by minidelirium from Sweden!

Although she doesn’t make papercraft templates herself, she loves working with her hands and as you can see, she’s very good at assembly! ;o)

In fact, minidelirium actually built a lot more papercraft models, than just paper Zelda, many more from the Legend of Zelda series, but also from other video games and series, ranging from small and simple ones to very big and complex papercraft models!

You can see (part of) the rest of her papercraft collection in this picture (some models she already gave away to friends ;o)

If you look very closely, you can even see American McGee’s Alice too among all the other models! (without the arms though, minidelirium hasn’t made those yet ;o)

Fierce Deity Link by Cesar Rodriguez

10-06-2009: As you can see by the timestamp on Cesar’s picture, he built my papercraft Fierce Deity Link quite a while ago already, but he still looks very good!

Fierce Deity Link (sometimes called “Oni Link”) is the ultimate form of Link in the video game “Majora’s Mask”, and it is very difficult to collect all the masks you need to trade to become “Oni Link”…!

Luckily, building this papercraft version of him like Cesar did should take a lot less time! ;o)

Battlestar Galactica Viper Mark II + Super Smash Bros. Melee Link by WickedPaper

09-10-2013: Despite my Super Smash Bros. Melee Link being the most challenging papercraft model I made so far I think, there are many people that did a very good job building him! ;o)

It really has *lots* of very small parts and pieces, but as you can see, WickedPaper did a great job too: he even made his own custom, more square display base for Melee Link to stand on, and I think it fits really well! ;o)

02-10-2013: WickedPaper showed me this great picture of my papercraft Battlestar Galactica Viper Mark II that he built on his Facebook profile: picture 1 !

He tells me he had fun building it, and you can really see that I think, because the end result looks very good! ;o)

Batman, Sora, Homer and Majora’s Mask by Daniel

03-10-2013: Daniel sent me some pictures of another one of my papercraft models that he built: Batman, from the Batman cartoon series! ;o)

Daniel says he only wanted to build the black version, because the version with the blue accents looks too much like the 1960’s Adam West-version of Batman, and he never watched that series. ;o)

It also allowed him to save some money on ink, by painting the black parts by hand: picture 2 | picture 3

You can see it looks very good, and if he wouldn’t have told me, I probably wouldn’t have known about it! ;o)

Daniel enjoyed building his papercraft Batman, only the hands were difficult, but he says those are “a pain in the ass in every model…!” ;o)

But nonetheless he had to build those too of course, and in the end he did a great job on them!

24-01-2013: Daniel got himself a new printer, so he can finally print and build his papercraft models in full colour now!

And that’s exactly what he did with my papercraft Kingdom Hearts 2 Sora:

He was a little worried about building the spiky hair, now that it’s all done, he says it was surprisingly easy to build and everything went together perfectly: picture 2

I think you can tell Daniel put in a lot of work to do the best job he could on his papercraft Sora, because everything from the hands (which are always a bit tricky because of the small fingers!) to Sora’s Kingdom Key keyblade looks really great! ;o)

18-06-2012: Daniel built another one of my models: Homer Simpson: picture

Because he could only print the templates in black-and-white, he had to paint it himself, and I have to say he did an amazing job: I never would have guessed! ;o)

Daniel started with the shoes and pants, then the shirt and arms and then the head. He was a bit worried the fingers would be difficult, but luckily he didn’t have any trouble making them.

He thinks the eyes on his paper Homer look a little bit weird, but maybe Homer has just had a little bit too much Duff beer…? ;o)

21-12-2011: 24 year old Daniel Navarro from Venezuela built Majora’s Mask: picture

It was only the second papercraft model he made, so he printed it on regular printer paper to use it as a kind of practice and to save the thicker cardstock paper he has for other paper models he wants to do (and it’s in grey colours because he ran into printer problems… ;o)

He’s pretty happy with the results though, and I agree with him: even without colours, he did a good job building it and I think he can safely try doing more complex models too! ;o)

Twilight Link by eaglechild

2013-09-05: From the looks of this picture, it seems like Twilight Link has finally found a path into the Kokiri Forest! (or maybe he cut an opening himself with his Master Sword? ;o)

He was built by “eaglechild”, a 46 year old mother of two from Switzerland, who are all huge fans of the Legend of Zelda video games: her 10 year old son handles the controller when they play the games, and she helps him solve the tougher puzzles. ;o)

But eaglechild is practicing playing the games herself too, and she says it’s quite challenging to start playing video games at her age: at first she was too afraid that Link would loose all of his life energy before she even got the chance to hit the enemy, but now she proudly says she can challenge them without fear! ;o)

She found the confidence she needed in reasoning that she can play the recorder too (they actually found my papercraft webpage by accident while looking for Zelda sheet music for the recorder ;o) so she would also be able to handle the Wii remote control to play the games, and she was right! ;o)

And in true Legend of Zelda-spirit, even though they had never done a papercraft project before, she and her 10 year old son rose to the challenge to build their own papercraft Twilight Link together too, after buying good 200 gsm paper and scalpel knives to cut out the parts.

Because it was only their first, beginner project and papercraft Twilight has quite a few small and tricky pieces, they decided to scale him up to 150% (and they are even planning one scaled up to 200%! ;o)

For the glue, they poured all of it from the tube into a small, lockable jar, so they could use thin paint brushes to apply it to the glueing tabs.

All in all it took eaglechild and her son just 3 days to build Twilight Link as their first papercraft model ever: they had some problems with the (very tricky!) fingers not being able to bend the right way to hold the Master Sword, and the handle of the Master Sword wouldn’t stick, but together they were able to find a solution for those problems! ;o)

So together they already learned a lot about papercraft from their first project, and they are very pleased with their achievement; the message they sent me was very enthustiastic, so I think this is one family that will continue to have a lot of fun with the Legend of Zelda series! ;o)

Adult Link by Sam

2013-07-01: Sam is only 13 and he had only been papercrafting for about 3 months when he decided to try out my papercraft Ocarina of Time adult Link!

Furthermore, Sam only has a black and white printer, so he had to colour all the parts himself with coloured pencils first before he could start building!

But honestly, if he wouldn’t have told me, I don’t think I would have noticed because he did a really good job! ;o)

Sam says the difficult parts for him were the hair, the hands and the sword, but he did a very good job on those too and the finished papercraft adult Link looks really great! ;o)

Zelda models by Javier

2013-07-01: Javier has been in Rome for a while, and of course he was busy doing other things there than papercraft. ;o)

But now that he’s back, he sent me a new picture of one of my papercraft Zelda models that he built: young Link from Majora’s Mask!

As you can see, Link first went to Kokiri Forest, no doubt to ask advice from the Great Deku Tree. ;o)

To go on a great quest, you need some pocket money though, but luckily in Hyrule money is easy to come by: you just have to cut the grass: picture ;o)

Great job building another papercraft Zelda model again by Javier, and I hope Link has all the rupees he needs now! (because there doesn’t seem any grass left to cut anymore…! ;o)

2013-06-16: Looks like Javier really got bitten by the papercraft bug: here’s another papercraft Zelda model he built already, Majora’s Mask: picture ;o)

Or… could it be that it was actually Majora’s Mask that told him to do it to begin with…?

I’m not sure, but fact is that Javier is having second thoughts about building it, because now the evil mask seems to be watching him while he sleeps: link…

15-06-2013: As we suspected, who else but Ganondorf (picture) would have come up with the idea to steal all the colours from Hyrule?

It looks like Link finally found his hideout, and once Ganondorf is done with his “you don’t stand a chance against me!”-speech, we’ll soon see if his adventure has made Link grow strong enough to defeat him once and for all (again)!

Another great build by Javier! ;o)

12-06-2013: Although Javier’s printer’s yellow ink cartridge was empty when he printed the parts to build my papercraft Ocarina of Time adult Link (I can only suspect Ganondorf is behind it…!) he didn’t let that bother him! ;o)

He built his papercraft Link anyway, and as you can see in the picture, he did a great job: picture

With his Hylian Shield and Master Sword, I’m sure Link will soon defeat Ganondorf and bring back all the colours to Hyrule (as you can see, he already brought back the colour “black“! ;o)

Let’s just hope Ganondorf’s evil colour-stealing plans don’t spread to other worlds, like that of Digimon or Pokémon, but as you can see in Javier’s DeviantArt gallery, so far the crafts he made from those series still have all their colours: link ;o)

Link, Sora and Yuna by cdncarlie

18-05-2013: This Ocarina of Time adult Link was the first papercraft model where cdncarlie coloured all the white edges of the paper to get rid of the “white lines” on the final paper model.

Despite the extra time it took, she really likes the result and I think you’ll have to agree that it looks really good! ;o)

Ocarina of Time Link wasn’t the first papercraft model cdncarlie built though: two other paper models of mine that she built are Kingdom Hearts’ Sora and Final Fantasy X-2’s Yuna: picture | picture

Yuna is actually an old model already, from March 2009, and at the time, it was the most difficult model cdncarlie did so far!

She gave Yuna away as a gift, but she feels that with all the papercrafting experience she has now (in her DeviantArt gallery, you can see lots more papercraft models she built: link !) she could do an even better job now! ;o)

cdncarlie is a bit of a perfectionist, so she would also like to fix Sora’s Kingdom Key keyblade (it looks a bit crooked) but the problem is that she already gave that one away as a gift too…! ;o)

Zelda models by William

12-05-2013: William sent me another picture, showing some new papercraft models he made since last time! ;o)

In the background, right next to Beast Ganon, is my very own Menu Link, the adult version from Ocarina of Time!

And in the top left, you can see the Moon from Majora’s Mask!

It actually took William quite some time to track that one down, because there were different versions at one time, but most of the original download links are gone now… :o(

And once William finally did manage to find a working download link, it turned out the template was incomplete, so he had to improvise and use one of the pages twice to make a complete Moon!

So that was a bit troublesome, but luckily William was able to overcome the problem with some smart thinking. ;o)

Most of the other paper models in the picture are the ones William already showed us before, except maybe one: I think the “Donkey Kong” poster on the wall in the background might actually not be just a poster, but the papercraft diorama piece made by Linkdude101 on Nintendo Papercraft!

16-10-2012: As you can see in this picture, William from Sweden made several more papercraft models since last time, including my own young Princess Zelda!

26-03-2012: William built not one, but two new models since last time: picture

The first one is young Link, who was just minding his own business, no doubt on his way to the next adventure, when a big bully suddenly blocked the road (read: bookshelf).

That big bully was of course Ganondorf, but even though he’s almost twice as big as young Link, I think he’s going to regret bullying Link like that… ;o)

04-01-2012: William from Sweden found my papercraft webpage by accident, but he liked the paper models so much that he decided to try it out himself!

These are the two paper models he built: picture

One is Majora’s Mask, and it’s hard to see, but he even made a small loop on its back so he can hang it on his wall.

I know what you’re thinking of course, but I think William doesn’t have to be afraid of Majora‘s evil powers in the mask: Fierce Deity Link will deal with Majora if he tries anything suspicous! ;o)
