29-12-2012: A lot of people often ask me to make a specific LEGO minifig for my papercraft LEGO minifig series, but unfortunately, I just don’t have the time for that… :o(
Balazs from Hungary however, has re-painted the parts from one of my papercraft LEGO Forestman into a Ninjago Lloyd ZX minifig himself! ;o)
You can see he already did a great job on re-painting all the parts of the body, like the torso, the head, and even the legs!
Balazs hasn’t made the ninja mask and new shoulder piece yet, but he already has plans to modify one of the helmets from my papercraft LEGO astronauts into the ninja mask! ;o)

I’m afraid that Balasz never sent me the templates that he made himself to make his own papercraft minifig either, but I think he just made them the same way I make new ones nowadays to be honest: I just start with the blank templates from the LEGO ghost (or from one that already has appriopriately colored parts of course!) and then I just work out how big the new parts need to be that I have to model in Sketchup (which is easiest if you make a test build of a minifig in 1:1 scale of course, of which I already have quite a lot now 😉). And everybody is really free to do the same to make their own favourite LEGO minifig of course, so I hope you’ll give it a go too! Take your time of course and have fun papercrafting!
What app did he use to repaint
I am not sure which specific app Balazs used, but the templates are really just images, so you can edit them with any image editing software, like GIMP or Photoshop or even MS Paint. ;o)
Some image software like Photoshop can open PDF files directly, but you can also convert the PDF files to separate image files beforehand, with a free online tool like https://www.zamzar.com/convert/pdf-to-bmp/ as long as you make sure to keep all the separate sheets the same scale of course.
