January 4th 2025 I had a big stroke…
I lived, but have to go through a long recovery
to see what I can still do in the future…

Hopefully it will be a lot…! 👍 Always keep having fun papercrafting!

Which papercraft model would you like to build?

What’s papercraft?” you ask?

Well, that’s when (in this case ;o)  you download and print a page of 2D parts (preferably on some thicker paper) cut them out and fold them, and then glue them together to make your very own 3D paper model of your favourite game/anime/movie character/whatever you like!

There are a lot of websites where you can find free templates to download and build, including my own one of course which you’re visiting right now. ;o)

Currently, I have two-hundred-and-thirty-seven (237!) free papercraft models in stock for you! :o) Select one of the Download categories above or in the Site map to the right to find the model you wish to download (if it’s not in one of the obvious categories, try the miscellaneous section).

If you want to contact me, or send me a picture of your finished paper model for the hall of fame, you can send me an e-mail at ninjatoes@home.nl and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Have fun building!

    1. Because papercraft is only a hobby for me, I simply don’t have the time to do requests, sorry! :o(

Samus is a very popular character though, and other people already made some impressive Samus papercrafts. Not all of them are free, but this one by Gollum is: http://gollum999papercraft.blogspot.com/

(use Pepakura Viewer from https://tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura_designer/ or Paper Maker at https://papercraft-maker.com/ to print the PDO after unpacking the RAR file).

There’s also this free Zero Suit Samus version by Warhoot on DeviantArt: https://www.deviantart.com/warshoot/art/Zero-Suit-Samus-Papercraft-641354893

And of course some simpler papercraft toys like the ones that Butinaneles recolored from Harlancore templates:
https://butinaneles.blogspot.com/search/label/paper%20toys (worked best for me by right-clicking the template previews and opening them a new tab to save)

And this one from Foldup Toys can be downloaded for free or for a small donation to the creator: https://folduptoys.com/product/samus-metroid/

And of course if you search around some more, I’m sure you’ll find more free ones! :o)

I’m sorry that I cant promise to make a Samus papercraft myself, but I hope you’ll enjoy the ones you can already find for free! :o) If I do end up making a papercraft Samus I’ll put here right here on my papercraft webpage with all my other ones to download for free as well of course! ;o)

      Have fun building!

      1. There was a previous papercraft on this page by Karl Kroenen but I don’t know why it doesn’t open, it seems like it was lost because the papercraft was from 2014 :(

    2. Hello ninja, could you make a papercraft of karl ruprecht kroenen pls your papercraft are great!

      1. Ikm happy to hear you like my papercrafts! :o) Unfortunately I really can’t promise to make a specific papercraft though… I think the Karl Kroenen papercraft you saw on my weblog was by a person that’s now called Box Studio and I hope they still have the template and would be willing to still share it with you…?

  1. Hello Ninja! I’m an aspiring papercraft designer, and I’ve always loved your models, but I’m unsure on what program to use to start designing my own models. Do you mind sharing some advice? Thanks in advance!

    1. Hi there! I like to make papercrafts from video games a lot, and for that I like to start with the actual 3D game models from the game. Those always need to be edited to be made into papercrafts and for that I like to use the free version of Metasequoia that you can get from their website: https://www.metaseq.net/en/

This can be done with pretty much any 3D software though, so if you’re already familiar with a 3D software, I would just use that one of course! ;o) A lot of people like to use Blender (https://www.blender.org/) because there are thousands of tutorials and user forums that can help you with issues you might run into!

(when I make a 3D model from scratch to make into papercraft, I usually use Sketchup (https://www.sketchup.com/en) to create the starting model because I find it really easy to use! (but I always do the finishing touches in Metasequoia – but it’s really just an extra step that’s not really necessary I guess ;o)

When I’m happy with the 3D model I use the paid version of Pepakura Designer (https://tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura_designer/) to unfold the 3D model into 2D papercraft parts to cut out and put together. You can try out the free version which lets you print out your creations (even as a PDF file so you can kinda ‘save’ it that way;o) but it won’t let you save your workto continue woeking on later on so if it’s just a simple model that you can finish in one sessions you don’t really have to get the paid version (although if you really like to design papercrafts and like the software, it’s always nice to support the creators of the tools you use of course! :o)

Pepakura Designer only works on Windows computers, but a few years ago I think people created an online tool called Papermaker which works almost exactly the same way, so that’s a good alternative I think: https://papercraft-maker.com/

I hope this helps, take your time to play around with tha tools to find out what works best for you and most importantly: have fun!

  2. Good Day dear Ninjatoes, I would really need your help with something, but at first thank you for your detecation and work, your fierce deity model is awesome and I build it 6 years ago. So now I really need your help, because for years I am looking for the template to this fierce deity mask from the n64 version of majoras mask, finally after I could contact the original maker killero94, he told me that yes he is the maker of this papercraft but his computer burned down and back then was no cloud save and he didnt saved it otherwise so what I´m trying to say is that its a detecated search of mine that I have since 2011, that means so much for me would finally end, and it would mean so much to me to have it, and it would make a longtime wish come true, I contacted you because I knew that you are awesome!

A response from you would mean so much to me, and even If it would be possible a Papercraft draft of the fierce deity mask from the n64 game

    Best wishes

    1. I’m afraid I’ve been superbusy for quite some months atm, so I only got to respond to your question on Twitter this morning. I’m afraid I don’t know if you can still download Killero94’s version somwhere. I do know you can download EuTytoAlba’s version from her DeviantArt page here: https://www.deviantart.com/eutytoalba/art/Fierce-Deity-Mask-PDO-PDF-588410583

I’m sorry I can’t help you better than this, but I hope you’ll like EuTytoAlba’s version too! Have fun!

  3. ninjatoes have you had in mind making helicopters from advance wars series????????????????????????????

    1. Absolutely! My Advance Wars series is one of my oldest series and I still love it! :o)

Although after all these years I only managed to make all the ground units (except the Oozium yet), and just a few boats and planes I still want to make all the units from the first three games (AW1, AW2 and AWDS) into papercrafts, so including the Copters of course! :o)

Safe to say though, that because I’m a lot busier than when I started the series and I also love to make other papercrafts from lots of different series, that it will probably be a while since I start on them, sorry…

  4. hola, me preguntaba si podrias hacer un papercraft sobre domino(marvel), soy muy fan de ese personaje y he buscado mucho y no he encontrado ningun modelo de ese personaje lo agradecería mucho.

    1. Hi there! A Marvel Domino papercraft is not on my already very long to-do list of papercrafts that I would love to make some day I’m afraid…. :o(

I’d love to point you in the direction of a papercraft of her instead, but I can only find ones that you probably already found too right now, like the one on this page or here.

I’m sorry that I can’t really help you, but I hope you’ll find some other fun papercrafts to make!

    1. I haven’t made a papercraft Skull Kid myself yet, but I remember seeing several versions from other people over the years. ;o) The quickest one I can find atm is the one from Papercraft Led:
      https://papercraftled.wixsite.com/home/ettore?fbclid=IwAR3oMWPW_FuHny1agkMIn5Kwv8Dyd2llzkTT30ZPY5POKAmotnl9qrRN-go&lightbox=dataItem-jljkvoci

Note: you’ll have to open the PDO files with the free Pepakura Viewer version (not the Designer version, which will ask you for a password that you only need if you want this specific papercraft template and that only the creator of this specific papercraft template will know; don’t worry though, the Viewer version will install automatically if you get the latest Pepakura program from the official site: https://tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura_designer/download/)

And like I said, there should be other ones if you search around a bit! Have fun building!

    1. I think that would probabl be “Melee Link”, from the GameCube game “Super Smash Bros. Melee”: https://ninjatoes.com/2007/06/12/super-smash-bros-melee-link/! I always try to make my papercrafts a bit on the smaller size (otherwise I would never enough space to keep them… ;o) but I also wanted to keep as much detail as possible; but as a result, a lot of the parts ended op being very small/thin so it was really challenging to build, even for myself…!

  5. Hey Ninjatoes there are some models of paper Automatas a machine with an axel, crank, ect that is an idea and they show animations an i show you a idea for the site

    1. There are probably lots of sites about that, but one that I always think of is Rob Ives’ site: he made lots of paper automata over the years that you can buy and assemble, but also free ones (you can just search for those on his site: https://www.robives.com/?s=free)

And I think what you mean is there’s also a LEARN section that shows the mechanisms he often uses and that you can use yourself if you like to experiment: https://www.robives.com/mechanism/ :o)

Paperpino also has a whole category with paper automata that you can download and build for free (https://www.paperpino.net/category/paper-automata/), and although I don’;t think he has a section with explanations for the mechanisms like on Rob Ives’ site, you can figure out how they work by building and analyzing them of course ;o)

I hope this helps, have fun!

  6. Hey ninja, if you have the time i was wondering if you could try to make Cloud Strife’s low-poly model from ffvii? I think it would transfer very well into papercraft.

    1. I totally agree: I love the old Final Fantasy games, and the early 3D ones look perfect in papercraft form! I’ve actually been wanting to make FF7 Cloud for a looooong time, but I always have so many ideas and so little time that I still haven’t gotten around to him… :o(

But lots of people have beat me to it throughout the years! :o) A lot of them are also gone again already unfortunately, but I remember Kaizo’s papercraft blog who made tons of Final Fantasy papercrafts including lots of Final Fantasy VII ones including Cloud that I think you can still download:
      https://kaizopapercraft.blogspot.com/search/label/Final%20Fantasy%20VII

I can’t promise when I will finally get around to make a low-poly papercraft Cloud myself, but I’m sure with Kaizo’s papercraft blog you will find plenty of awesome FF papercrafts to keep yourself busy for a long time! :o)

      Have fun building!
