January 4th 2025 I had a big stroke…
I lived, but have to go through a long recovery
to see what I can still do in the future…

Hopefully it will be a lot…! 👍 Always keep having fun papercrafting!

Which papercraft model would you like to build?

What’s papercraft?” you ask?

Well, that’s when (in this case ;o)  you download and print a page of 2D parts (preferably on some thicker paper) cut them out and fold them, and then glue them together to make your very own 3D paper model of your favourite game/anime/movie character/whatever you like!

There are a lot of websites where you can find free templates to download and build, including my own one of course which you’re visiting right now. ;o)

Currently, I have two-hundred-and-thirty-seven (237!) free papercraft models in stock for you! :o) Select one of the Download categories above or in the Site map to the right to find the model you wish to download (if it’s not in one of the obvious categories, try the miscellaneous section).

If you want to contact me, or send me a picture of your finished paper model for the hall of fame, you can send me an e-mail at ninjatoes@home.nl and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Have fun building!

  1. wow, you are so helpfull!

i already get blender, but it is some kind konfusing. probably i will learn it a little bit too, when i have more time. have to use tutorials anyway.

i folowed your instruction and installed that .mll
pepacura is willing to open it too. but i see nothing else that “nothing” ^^ just a white blank site.
i don´t know, maybe becouse i have not did any textures on my sphere.
(i hate to sound like a noob ^^)

i created a normal nurbs sphere and exportet once the selection and the other time “all” and the result was the same.

yesterday i did the same in blender and it worked nice o.O

  2. These are the 3D file formats that Pepakura Designer supports: http://www.tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura-en/productinfo/func5.html

Maya is more than capable to export to different file formats, as long as you have the relevant plugin. You probably already have the objExport.mll plugin to export to the Wavefront obj file format. You probably just never loaded it yet. ;o)

In Maya, go to Window -> Settings/Preferences -> Plug-in Manager, and click to load (or auto-load might also be a good idea ;o) the plugin. Then you should be able to export to Wavefront obj, which Pepakura Designer supports.

(if you don’t have the plugin yet, you need to download and install it in the appropriate folder first of course)

  3. Pepakura likes to take other 3d object files like obj, 6kt/6ks, dfx, mqo, 3ds, lwo, stl, kmz and kml, but I don’t know what maya makes. I would suggest getting blender (free) and using it to import/export your files to the right formats to make them work. So yes, you probably can do it, but you need to convert your model into the right format.

  4. can i use maya to make my models in there and place them in papekura? oO
becouse in maya there isn´t any export file type for pepakura

  5. ERROR ALERT: I was just about to start the black hole Md tank, and was looking at all the pieces. On part 12 it says “glue part 23 here” (which is fine) and on the other side it says “glue part 24 here” which is actually supposed to say part 25 I’m guessing. Part 24 is all the little rectangles you have to glue to the tracks.

    1. Yeah, sometimes I like to leave little mistakes like that to keep you guys on your toes.

(that’s my story and I’m sticking with it! ;o)

  6. I’m rather ameteur at papercrafting, but I decided to print off some of your models anyway, I am currently working on The King of the Red Lions and I’m going to try your Young Link. (I’m in it deep now…)
Anyway, recently I’ve been looking for a Sheik model, and the only ones I could find were on a Spanish website (I have NO idea what its saying on that site,) or they’re all in .rar format, (which I can’t convert to PDF!)
It would be AWESOME, if you tried your hand at a Sheik model!

(or maybe you could help me figure out how to covert .rar to PDF)

Anyway, thanks for listening and keep making awesome models.

    1. Haha, you mean the one from Icthus?

Now that he is releasing Kafei and Sheik, but requires you to post a comment for one and your e-mail for the other, several people have already asked me if I am going to make these as well…

And yes, I probably will in the future. ;o) But for now, opening a RAR-file is not very difficult. It’s the same as a ZIP-file.

You need to install a program to unpack RAR-files, though. 7-Zip (freeware) and WinRAR (shareware) can do this, as well as many others.

After you have installed the file archiver of your choice, you can doubleclick the RAR-file to unpack it. I don’t know if Icthus included PDF files, though. If there’s just a PDO-file in the archive, you can open it with Pepakura Viewer (freeware).

Good luck and have fun building!

    1. Okay Josh got back to me and here’s how it stands:

He already did a test build and is now fixing any small imperfections that surfaced. His words: two weeks, at the most. ;o)

  7. Have you heard from Josh about the KoRL ocean base lately? He said he was test building it about a month ago and I was just wondering if you knew when he was going to release it or not.

    1. Nope, sorry, not yet… He did say he was close to finishing it. But it can be very boring work to create a good template, and I think he only works on it *very* occasionally… ;o)

      I’ll ask. ;o)
