January 4th 2025 I had a big stroke…
I lived, but have to go through a long recovery
to see what I can still do in the future…

Hopefully it will be a lot…! 👍 Always keep having fun papercrafting!

Which papercraft model would you like to build?

What’s papercraft?” you ask?

Well, that’s when (in this case ;o)  you download and print a page of 2D parts (preferably on some thicker paper) cut them out and fold them, and then glue them together to make your very own 3D paper model of your favourite game/anime/movie character/whatever you like!

There are a lot of websites where you can find free templates to download and build, including my own one of course which you’re visiting right now. ;o)

Currently, I have two-hundred-and-thirty-seven (237!) free papercraft models in stock for you! :o) Select one of the Download categories above or in the Site map to the right to find the model you wish to download (if it’s not in one of the obvious categories, try the miscellaneous section).

If you want to contact me, or send me a picture of your finished paper model for the hall of fame, you can send me an e-mail at ninjatoes@home.nl and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Have fun building!

    1. Haha, that’s because in this blog theme, the comments’ text gets justified, so it gets stretched to fill the entire line. Nothing to worry about. ;o)

  1. How do you figure out how the movements work for your advance wars models? They are all really amazing, especially the neotanks.:)

    1. Haha figuring out how to make something rotate really wasn’t that hard… The “dancing legs” for the Neotanks might be a bit harder, but it’s really just a matter of imagining how all the forces and movements work when you move one part.

There isn’t really a special trick for that, other than paying attention in school in math class and physics I guess… ;o)

        1. Most people think it’s really hard, but most of the time all you need is being able to think logically.

Maybe papercrafting will give you a head start! ;o)

    1. Yeah, because the lbs system uses so many variables (and different ones from the ISO system) it makes conversion between the two very confusing…

But if you want my advice: don’t go wasting your time hunting down that one specific gsm paper weight in lbs form.

Check your regular paper sources to see if they can help you get thicker paper, and if it works for you, don’t worry too much if it turns out it isn’t exactly the gsm you hoped for. ;o)

  2. Hello, Im just wondering, can you make a steath for ordon sword? (the one of your zora armor link model) because it hasnt :(
    thanks

    1. Haha I actually did put that on my to do-list even though I made ZaL without the sheath at first, but I’m afraid I’ve been busy with so many things and other paper models…

I will have to see if I can find the specific file for it, and I will probably end up doing it “in between” bigger models, but I can’t promise you any exact date, sorry…!

  3. Hi ninjatoes! I was trying to download Metasequoia and I was successful other than the fact that everything was displayed in Japanese. So I had to choose between
    A- learning japanese, or
B- translate everything as I see it
And so I chose C- ask ninjatoes how he did it (for obvious reasons) So by now you should know my question but I’ll say it anyways. How do you get metasequoia’s display language to be English?

    1. It has been a long time, but I seem to remember that the version I have simply installed in English without me needing to change it afterwards… I can tell you how I can change the language from English to Japanese in my version, so hopefully you can use the same steps to change it from Japanese to English. ;o)

In the File menu (like always, that’s the first menu button on the left on the menubar) there’s a configuration menu (it’s the 8th option from the top, just below the DOGA-L option). If you click it, a configuration box will pop up, and at the very top, you will see a language option. Yours will say Japanese, but from the pull down menu you should be able to select English.

You will need to close and restart Metasequoia for the change to take effect, and then everything (almost everything, except for a few things that aren’t translated) should be in English.

If it doesn’t work, see if you have an “English” folder in your Metasequoia Program Files folder (in the Data folder). If it isn’t there, you downloaded a version without English translations…

      I hope this helps!

  4. hey im a huge fan
i wanna ask you some questions
    1.when did you start papercrafting.
2.wich was the first model that you build( not from your colection)
3 which was the first papercraft that you made (from your colection)

its ok if you dont ask all of them

    Thanks :)

    1. 1. The first time I made a papercraft from the internet and started to do it all the time as a hobby was in 2002.

      2. Being a sciencefiction fan, some of the first models from the internet that I built were R2-D2 from Cut ‘n’Paste Sci-fi and some of the Star Wars models from SF Movie Paper Craft Gallery. I’m a big sciencefiction fan, so I loved being able to make those robots and spaceships out of paper!

      3. The first paper model I made myself was the Samurai Pizza Cats Pizza Parlour. Because I didn’t know how to make papercraft models with the computer back then, I simply made it by hand (which I still do sometimes, just because it’s fun ;o)

  5. hey im the guy form the zapper coment ( the boxes) i forgot to tell you if you could send them to my mail (that i already put) and its the grey version (dont know if theres a diference) and sorry for bad spelling.

    :)

  6. hey im a big fan, i was wondering i you could please send me just the little boxes (parts 20-28) from the nintendo zapper i didnt put them right and i took them off(luckily whitout tearing the whole model :P) and i want to print them again but its two pages(and a lot of ink :( ) so please help me!!!

ps. if it helps to convince you this months my birthday :D

    1. I’m not ninjatoes, but I know he probably couldnt do that for you. Messing up a craft is frustrating, expecially 9 peices. 2 pages isnt as much as you would think, though. I printed King of Red lions and it used barely any ink. eventually 5 pages will seem like nothing( I’m doing life size link) so dont worry about ink. Those parts do get repetitive, so just do 1 or 2 a day and it wont seem like that much.Hope that helped.

    2. I can’t send them to you all assembled by regular snail mail, but I don’t think that’s what you mean right? ;o)

One of the nice things about “digital” papercraft is that you can always print new parts if you mess up. Sometimes it’s bad luck if the parts you mess up are on two seperate pages, and usually you also have to print a lot of parts you didn’t need…

The NES Zapper comes in Jpeg format though, that you can easily open in any image editor. Then you can cut off the parts you don’t need, and paste the parts you do need on the same page and save it as a new file. When you print it, make sure it’s the same scale as the old parts! ;o)

(you can do the same with PDF files of course, but you need a somewhat more sophisticated image editor like Gimp or Photoshop that can open PDF files – or your print screen button and some math/trial and error to get the right size ;o)

    1. Well he takes suggestions, but really he just does what he feels like making. Say for example about 20 or so people (I’m not keeping count or anything) have all said ‘Make a Sora model’ and he’s going to one day (so he says) but he’s made several other models since those requests started coming in.

    2. Well, since papercraft is just a hobby of mine and I already have so many ideas of my own that I would like to paperfy some day, I just don’t really have the time to do other people’s ideas as they request them as well I’m afraid…

      1. Oh ok, its alright ill keep looking on your site to see if theres anything new.

        awesome site by the way.

        1. you can check on his blog(top right of page) to check for progress on models and new releases. He releases only about two or three a month.

          1. Well to be honest, I don’t have a set goal of 2 or 3 models a month, I just release them as I finish them. ;o)

So sometimes that’s a couple of models a month, sometimes just 1…

  7. Hi, Ninjatoes! I want to say thank you very much for your posting in Stella Lune’s blogspot. As I saw these stuff the night before yesterday, I can’t help but searching anything about these paper craft things until afternoon….

Your creations were fabulous that made me fell in love at first glance! Especially those trio T-Rexes from Tomb Raider series ;-) . They really were identical with the game version.

Hence, since yesterday, I can’t stop making Yamaha YZR paper craft model (white) from the link you gave. Really eager to finish it at all. I’m looking forward to finish it and make another stuff.

Thank’s a lot for your inspiration. You are truly a living legend!

    1. Hi there, and thank you for your kind words… ;o)

When Stella asked me to write a piece for her weblog, how could I say no? Her strategy and walkthrough site is still one of my favorite Tomb Raider sites!

I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying your new papercraft hobby, Yamaha has lots of papercraft bikes ranging from relatively easy to build to very detailed and difficult, so you won’t need to be bored for quite some time I think! ;o)
