January 4th 2025 I had a big stroke…
I lived, but have to go through a long recovery
to see what I can still do in the future…

Hopefully it will be a lot…! 👍 Always keep having fun papercrafting!

Which papercraft model would you like to build?

What’s papercraft?” you ask?

Well, that’s when (in this case ;o)  you download and print a page of 2D parts (preferably on some thicker paper) cut them out and fold them, and then glue them together to make your very own 3D paper model of your favourite game/anime/movie character/whatever you like!

There are a lot of websites where you can find free templates to download and build, including my own one of course which you’re visiting right now. ;o)

Currently, I have two-hundred-and-thirty-seven (237!) free papercraft models in stock for you! :o) Select one of the Download categories above or in the Site map to the right to find the model you wish to download (if it’s not in one of the obvious categories, try the miscellaneous section).

If you want to contact me, or send me a picture of your finished paper model for the hall of fame, you can send me an e-mail at ninjatoes@home.nl and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Have fun building!

    1. Sure, I’d love to see what you made! “Scratchbuilding” is often a lot quicker to make a cosplay suit than working from a papercraft template that wasn’t really meant for cosplay… But it’s good to hear you’re making progress on your project, keep it up and have fun!

    1. Do you mean the top “rim” (parts 3 and 6) ? ;o)

I often change the ingame model (including the textures sometimes) when I feel it would look better that way. And like many things, it is almost always a personal preference.

You’ll probably find many things on my papercraft models that are just *a little bit different* than in the game, but that doesn’t always mean it’s a problem/mistake. ;o)

    1. Did you manage to find a suited (no pun intended) papercraft template? The most important thing I can think of, is to keep in mind that you need to be able to put it on and off, and that you need to be able to move around in it.

So maybe you can make all the parts like “half shells” and use a clip of some sort to keep the two halves together while you’re wearing it.

And because it needs to be quite strong of course, maybe it would be an idea to trace the parts on thick cardboard/posterboard and use strong tape to assemble the parts (instead of glueing tabs) and paint them in the desired colours.

Simply scaling up a small scale model probably won’t work because of the limitations of a small static model as opposed to a papercraft cosplay armor…

Try out various idea, and hopefully you’ll find a way to make it work; good luck and have fun!

  1. hey ninjatoes, im a new papercrafter n im planning to make some in pepakura designer but whenever i import a .3ds file (frm 3ds max), there r some open edges (red edges) mostly in the wrist foot n the weapons.

can u plz tell me how to get rid of them? or u know maybe tell me how to make parts which are detached.

    1. Those red edges in Pepakura Designer mean that those edges aren’t properly connected in the 3D model, so Pepakura Designer doesn’t know what to do with them.

You should still be able to add glueing tabs to the disconnected edges after unfolding the model, but you can’t manually join them in Pepakura Designer, which severely limits your unfolding options of course…

Pepakura Designer has an option called “Join Adjacent Isolated Edges” in the “3DModelWindow” menu, but it often doesn’t fix all the red lines.

The best way to fix this problem, is to go back to the 3D model itself, and reconnect all the problem edges in the 3D modelling software you’re using, this time properly. ;o)

I hope this helps, good luck and have fun!

  2. ninjatoes i am trying to make a papercraft iron man suit for iron man 2 what is the best version out there that is free?

P.S. mark 3 or war machine will do

    1. Hm, you mean like a cosplay suit?

I do know of several small scale paper Iron Man (that sounds strange… ;o) models, I don’t know if scaling them bigger would be an option (link and link for example). Keep in mind that these are designed for one specific pose, so if you want to be able to move around, you have to make some alterations after scaling them up.

There are helmets out there (link and link for example) that are supposedly life sized, but I guess that depends on the size of your head. ;o)

I’m afraid I don’t know if anybody made a full sized paper Iron Man armor yet though, sorry…

  3. I’m developing a tabletop version of Advance Wars just for kicks (mostly to play with friends, but might upload it if there’s enough interest). Can I use your papercrafts for units? They look really nice and would fit better than cardboard tokens or figure flats :/

    1. You can use them if you build them of course, but keep in mind that although they look simple, building even a moderate army will take a lot of time…! ;o)
